Humpback Whale

This graceful creature is known for it's beautiful underwater song. Over 50 feet in length, the humpback's enormously long pectoral fin spans one-third of the animal's total body length. At birth, babies are 15 feet long and will be nursed by their mothers for almost a year. The population of Humpback whales dropped because they were over hunted by man. Now, even though they are well protected, pollution in Earth's oceans may be the cause of their populations slow recovery.
